Privacy notice
How Kent Car Services uses the details you send us, in plain English.
Who we are
This website belongs to Kent Car Services (Westerham) Ltd, company number 09999158, Unit 7 Hortons Way, Westerham, Kent TN16 1BT. We decide how your details are used. You can reach us on 01959 564242 or by email at [CONFIRM: email address].
What the quote form collects
If you send a quote request, we receive:
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address, if you give one
- the service you picked, if you picked one
- your message about the car or van
We use these details only to reply to your request and to talk to you about the work. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell or share your details for marketing.
Under UK data protection law, we rely on two grounds: taking the steps you've asked for before a job is agreed, and our legitimate interest in replying to a message you chose to send us.
Who handles it for us
This website is hosted by Render Services, Inc. When you send the form, your details go to a small form service, also run on Render, which emails them to us using Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.). Our web developer runs the form service for us. It doesn't keep a copy of your details. Resend keeps a copy of each email it sends for 30 days.
Render and Resend are based in the United States, so your details may be handled outside the UK. Each handles them under its own data protection terms.
Like any web host, Render also keeps basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. [CONFIRM: how long John keeps quote requests, for example 12 months, then deletes them]
Cookies
This website doesn't set any cookies and doesn't use any tracking or analytics.
Two things on the site load from Google:
- the typeface, from Google Fonts. Your browser asks Google's servers for it, so Google sees your IP address.
- the map on the contact page, from Google Maps. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. Google's privacy policy covers them.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to delete them. Ring 01959 564242, email us at [CONFIRM: email address], or write to us at Unit 7 Hortons Way, Westerham, Kent TN16 1BT. We'll reply within one month, as the law requires.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
